So there you are vacuuming your carpets and you see a spot or stain on your carpets. So you stop vacuuming and reach for a spotter to clean and remove the stain. You clean and then to your satisfaction the stain is gone only to see it reappear the next day. That can be frustrating. You ask yourself why? Well at TLC Carpet Care we have some answers for you. Below is a list of a few reasons why and what you can do about it.
- Soap Based Cleaners: Most people buy carpet cleaning products from a local store such as a Home Depot or Lowes. The problem with these carpet cleaning products is there not created by professional carpet cleaning companies. They are nothing but products loaded with soap. Once you apply this soap in your carpets instead of removing the stain it just covers the stain giving the illusion that the stain is gone. What's worse is the soap will use attract more dirt making the stain worse.
- Wicking: Wicking is a change of carpet ph levels. Some carpet cleaning products that are used have high alkaline levels and so when the carpet dries the stain reappears because of the ph level of the stain. If an acid rinse is not used to correct the ph level it will cause the wicking.
- Deep embedded Stains: Many spills and stains saturate deep within the carpet fibers. Pet urine can even saturate in the padding and subfloor. When spills and stain are this deeply embedded you can clean the surface of the carpets but when the carpets dry the stain reappears because you haven't extracted the entire stain.
