TLC Carpet Care has a few tips on what to do and what not to do following your carpet cleaning appointment. As far as dry time carpets usually dry in about on average 6 to 8 hours, so carpets can be ready to use once your carpets are fully dry. Try to limit walking on them until then. If you have to walk on them don't wear shoes. 
Note: thick Nylon and Shag carpets may take up to 8 to 10 hours to completely dry.

For best results, follow these tips after your cleaning:

If we move and reset furniture after the cleaning, we will place tabs or styrofoam blocks under the legs of your furniture to keep the stain on the legs from bleeding and or damaging the legs as well. So be sure to leave theses tabs and blocks under the furniture until the following day. 

• Please leave plastic tabs and blocks in place for 24 hours.

• Avoid walking on the carpet until the carpet is completely dry. If you have to wear clean socks. 

• To help dry time open windows to get air circulation. Using fans, and running the A/C will act as a dehumidifier. Do not turn on the heat as it will case humidity and extend the dry time. 

• Keep the kids and pets off the carpet until the carpets completely dry.

• Please use caution when walking from stairs hard-surface area. Slippery conditions may cause serious injury,
