Tips for Soil Prevention In Carpets
Carpet Cleaning Castle Rock

They say that prevention is better than the cure. That could not be more true than your carpets. Professional carpet cleaning and home maintenance can play such a key factor in not only keeping your carpets clean but also looking new. It will also serve as the catalyst to help them last for years to comes. But How? TLC Carpet Care shares a few tips on carpet cleaning maintenance and soil prevention.
Nothing can be harder on your carpets than soil. There are two things that soil can do that can cause great harm to your carpet. First, soil is abrasive it's like sandpaper slowly grinding away at your carpet fibers. Once your carpet fibers are damaged there's no repairing them. Second. Soil has nitrogen in it. The longer you allow soil to stay in your carpets, the soil bonds to your yarn and the nitrogen slowly changes the color of your carpets. This damage too is irreversible.
So here are a few things you can do for soil prevention.
- Make a Golden Rule: No shoes in the house. Shoes will track in everything from outside directly to your carpet fibers. Most of these soils and contaminates will slowly work their way deep into the carpet fibers where you can't even see them. Then the damage begins.
- Use doormats: Place mats both at every door way is also another way to prevent bringing the outside on to your carpets.
- Vacuum Frequently: It's impossible to think that you won't accidentally track in anything to your carpets. Vacuuming frequently ensure that you do get up quickly whatever does get tracked in.
- Wipe Paws: When your pets come in from outside a quick wipe of their paws will quickly prevent then from tacking things inside.
- Keep your vacuum filters clean: A vacuum cleaner will only be as efficient as it's ability to extract. If your filter is not clean that will hinder your vacuums ability to effectively remove soils and contaminates.
By following to these tips, you’ll be happy at how much cleaner and longer your carpets will stay clean and you will also find you will not need to spend as much money on professional carpet cleaning. Last but not least you will also be extending the life of your carpets and that will really save you money.
