How Long Does It Take For Carpets To Dry?
HI It's Kyle again from TLC Carpet Care. One of the most common questions I get is how long will it take for my carpets to dry? Well its not a one shoe fits all kinda of answer. The first thing to consider is the type of carpet. A thin polyester carpet is going to dry much quicker than a thick wool or nylon carpet.Second is temperature. Carpets will dry quicker during warmer summer temperatures than during the winter. If you live in areas where humidity is up that also can extend dry time. Third is level of soiling. The dirtier a carpet is the more a tech has to prespray and rinse thus affecting the amount of moisture the carpets receive. If you want to help dry time then open windows when outside temperatues are suitable. Place fans in traffic areas. Do not turn up heat in your home. this will cause more humidity and extend dry time. Also try not to walk on carpets. You want to avoid resoiling. Also when we are done the carpet will be plush optimizing air flow. If you walk on it this will matt it down. Last don't remove tabs under furniture until carpets are completely dry. Having said all this most carpets dry in seven to eight hours. Scheduling in the morning will give you the entire day so dry time doesn't lag into the evening.I hope this has been helpful.
