TLC Carpet Care in Castle Rock would like to share a suggestions for cleaning these common halloween messes at home, after the candy and chocolate seems to get everywhere in your carpets.  

Candy and Chocolate– Mix a solution of one part warm water and a small dab of dish soap then blot stain with white towel.  Once chocolate is no longer visible in the carpet apply a clean towel with cold water and damp tow rinse the carpet of any soap residue. Lastly use a dry towel to blot up as much moisture  as possible then leave the carpet to dry. 

Chewing Gum– When it comes to gum you will need a citrus cleaner. You may find a bottle of citrus cleaner at your local Home Depot, if not you can call TLC Carpet Care and they can sell you a bottle. Once you have the citrus just pour a little bit on the gum and allow to dwell for 20 minutes. Then with a dull putty knife gently scrape off the gum. 

Facial paint- Apply a small amount of warm water and detergent soap to the spot. With a clean towel use a blotting motion to work the detergent into the paint. Repeat the process until paint is removed. Rinse with cold water then use a towel to blot to remove excess moisture.
