Everyone loves candles. They create a mood and a wonderful scent in your home. Thou sometimes burning candles in the house can result in wax dripping on your carpets. When wax drip on your carpets it quickly hardens and becomes embedded deep in the fibers all the way to the backing of your carpets in the latex. Kyle Dillon owner of TLC Carpet Care in Castle Rock recommends heating the wax back to a semi-liquid state in order to remove it. Safely remove it, as a spot cleaner will never work. All you have to do is get a cloth and a iron. Then place a white cloth over a warm clothes iron (use the “no steam” setting). Then set the iron on top of the wax and wait 60 seconds at a time until it melts. Scrape off the softened wax with a putty knife. Be sure to not cut the fibers of the carpet. Take your time as this will take a little patience but you can get it all out without damaging the carpets if your careful.
Now some candles have dye in the wax and if this is the case you will not be able to remove the dye. You will need the services of a professional carpet cleaning com[any to remove the dye.
If your not able to remove the wax or your simply not comfortable give a professional carpet cleaning company like TLC Carpet Care a call.
