Here’s an all-too-familiar situation, you give your kids chewing gum and eventually they get it on the carpet or sometimes  they step in chewing gum out on the street and then they walk in the house and that sticky mess is now in your carpeting. What to do? The normal spot cleaners are not going to be able to remove gum from your carpets but the secrete to removing gum from carpeting can be found in your freezer.

Get a few ice cubes and lay them against the gum for 90 seconds.  Once the gum is frozen solid, use a spoon to gentle remove the gum, it's more than likely to come apart in pieces. You can also use carpet scissors or a butter knife to cut the carpet strands as close as possible to the gum without fraying the carpets. If you cut only a small amount of carpet, the spot will be undetectable and you won't have an eye sore. Then just stop buying your kids gum.
